Got my new SST Shifter last week. Right now have an ugly mod to get it hooked up to my Playseat Evo.
I like the shifter alot. The closeness of the throws will take getting used to, but it definitely is a serious piece of hardware that should stand up to alot of abuse. Shipping to get up here to Canada was pricey, but I guess someone has to pay to "have all that paperwork" done.

First here are pics of my rig. It's a hybrid, Playseat Evo and handbuilt 1 1/2 ABS. Plus some mods made from copper tubing. I know it's crying out for a shot of paint.
Anyways I'm pretty happy with the whole thing. The stand for the monitor has a bit to much sway but I hope to go to triple head setup soon.

So it's done. I've ordered a Playseat with G25 shifter extension and the seat sliders from Smoke tronics.
Decision was based on the difficulty in getting someone to commit to getting any of the other rigs I was considering across the border for an acceptable cost.
Smoketronics shipped my whole setup next day. It's supposed to arrive today. I ordered it Monday night.
So it's only a Playseat but it's my first rig. I'll keep this blog updated with a review and impressions and I'll keep posting links to good info I find on this subject.
Found a UK site with decent pics of a Playseat with the LCD stand. I still don't get why the LCD stand is so expensive.
I got tired of all the wasted space with the default 2 column look. So here's a 3 column template. And I'm looking at this little beauty these days...

Good news. If heard from Texas Sim Racing. they're hoping to see the new 2010 Ozone rig by August and are trying to get me an answer about shipping to Canada by the end of the week.

Since I found the Roccaforte I figured I could add a “gaming workseat” section. It’s on the right side.
Found this at the same time I found the chair. I does have potential. My concern about sticking with the desk setup is I don’t get the pedals up off the floor and into a more natural driving position.

I found this at Costco. Not exactly what I’m shopping for. Plus I’m not impressed with the way Costco has renamed it for Canada. In the states it’s known as the Pyramat Wireless PC Gaming Chair 2.1. And the Amazon reviews aren’t great.

I sent an email to Texas Sim asking about shipping details as well as if there is a need to pre-order a unit. Email got bounced. That's not giving me a warm fuzzy feeling.
Got an email yesterday from Chris at Obbuto. He apologized for taking a while to respond and went on to describe some exciting new things happening with the Ozone. I guess the biggest news is he has secured a North American distributor. Texas Sim Racing will the place to get the Ozone.
No purchase yet. I did exchange emails with a Playseat retailer. I asked when they would have the LCD monitor stand available in Canada. Response was it will be here in July. Price? $199 !!!
I asked why the price was so hi and was told shipping costs have skyrocketed.
So this is what I thought would be the best rig. But so far 2 emails and no answer. And no other contact info..just email addy's.

I'm a sim racer. I used to be hardcore Papy Nascar series. Then I fell off that wagon. A few years ago I found the GTR series by Simbin. Then I got a G25 wheel right after they came out. I tried to build my own racing/computing chair setup but it failed. Now I want to purchase one.
But going thru all of the models on the web is a royal pain. I can't find one comprehensive list of models, prices, features and availablilty.
So my goal here is to provide links to as many racing chair/wheel holder/cockpits that I can find. I'll try and sprinkile in as much of my own info as I can along the way.
Naturally being Canadian I will have a heavy focus on items that we can actually obtain easily in Canada. And at the moment that list is pretty darn short!
